One thing that amazes me is how quickly time can get away from you. One week I’m taking the time to focus on my new job and before I realize it, it’s seven months later. Funny how life will do that to you.
If you’re wondering what I’ve been doing for the past seven months, well, you’re not alone. During that time, I’ve started a new job, finished my degree in web development, and have been doing a lot of catching up on home improvement/house projects. I had to survive for over a year with no income, so the list of projects has quite the backlog to clear. Even after six months straight where just about every weekend I’ve been working on a house project, it still feels like I’ve barely put a dent in that list. Throw some traveling and other personal projects on top of all that and it’s no wonder the blog had fallen by the wayside.
So what is my plan from here. Right now, the blog is not the best representation of who I am, so I will be adding topics that will give you a much more well-rounded view into my life. I am really excited to announce that I will be adding more topics to the blog, including food and cooking adventures, DIY projects and tips, battles keeping the ground squirrels out of my garden, humor, some brutally honest thoughts about my less successful endeavors, and whatever else may pop into my head. I will still be posting content related to programming and web development, as I do need to maintain this as somewhat of a professional blog, but I still need to get my inner redneck on whenever I can.
In addition to making the blog a much higher priority than it has ever been before, my goal both in the short-term and long-term is to publish new content at least every one to two weeks. I expect to have to tweak that schedule from time-to-time to post less frequently when things get busy and post less frequently when things get busy and post more frequently during the more quiet periods. I have also decided to pretty much shut down my social media accounts so I can focus on maintaining this blog, as I had spread myself a little too thin. My relationship with social media has never been a terribly strong one, so I’ve always felt that I’ve been able to express myself much better through the blog.
Welcome back, and I look forward to sharing many more blogging adventures with you!
